Building knowledge that lasts

Professionals participating in a training workshop

Connect training with everyday responsibilities and a practical plan for applying what people learn.

Start with a useful outcome

Before selecting a learning topic, describe what people should be able to do afterwards. A process owner, an internal auditor and a new team member may need different levels of understanding.

Work with familiar examples

Relate learning to activities people recognise. A simple process diagram, a recent review or an anonymised example can help explain why a requirement matters and how it affects daily decisions.

Make time to apply the learning

Agree a small, relevant follow-up activity. That might be reviewing a work instruction, preparing audit questions or explaining a process to a colleague. Practical use helps reveal questions that were not apparent during a session.

Check what changed

Return to the original learning outcome. Ask what became easier, what remains unclear and what support would help. Use those observations to guide the next learning conversation.
