Compliance Process

From enquiry to ongoing review

The exact assessment arrangements depend on the applicable scheme and agreed scope. This overview explains the conversations and stages to expect; specific terms are confirmed before work begins.

  1. Define the scope

Share the standard, activities, sites and size of your organisation. An initial review establishes what the enquiry covers and whether it can be accepted.

  2. Agree the arrangements

Confirm the applicable requirements, assessment plan and responsibilities. Raise any questions about timing, documentation or impartiality before proceeding.

  3. Review the evidence

The assessment considers how the system operates against the agreed requirements. Findings are recorded and any necessary corrective actions are communicated.

  4. Complete the decision process

Assessment findings and required actions are reviewed before a certification decision. An enquiry or completed assessment does not guarantee certification.

  5. Maintain and review

Keep the system active and communicate relevant changes. Ongoing assessment and recertification arrangements depend on the scheme and agreed programme.

Changes to scope

New activities or sites may require an extension review. A reduction in activities can lead to a narrower scope. Contact us before representing changed activities as being covered by an existing certificate.

Refusal, suspension and withdrawal

Acceptance and certification depend on relevant requirements being met. The applicable terms explain when an application may be refused or certification suspended, reduced or withdrawn, and how any resulting restrictions are communicated.

Complaints and appeals

Use the contact form to raise a concern or request information about an appeal. Include a clear description and any relevant reference number. Do not attach confidential evidence at this initial stage; arrangements for additional information can be agreed separately.

Impartiality and advisory work

Any potential conflict of interest must be considered before an engagement. Training or advisory enquiries are distinct from certification decisions, and no referral or training attendance guarantees a successful outcome.
